Note: After opening Beats Audio for the first time, you can search for the software by typing Beats. Click Start, Control Panel, and Beats Audio Control Panel. The beats audio is rubbish and I hate it. I have a HP pavillion with Altec Lansing speakers that sounds better side by side than the DV7.
When the subwoofer is turned off, the beats icon will have a slash through it.
