While you technically have to be online to download this game from the eShop or another platform’s digital storefront, it’s still not ideal for those that like to or have to play games offline as well as those who just do not want to create a account to play new versions of games that are several years old.

To play these new titles for the first time, players must have an internet connection in order to sign into. Twiter users like Daan Koopman noticed this after immediately downloading the game on Nintendo Switch. Many players immediately downloaded the game, but were greeted with something surprising: connecting to a account is necessary before anyone can play, online or offline.
